I am a member of the European String Teachers' Association with an up-to-date, fully-enhanced DBS (CRB) check.  I hold a Certificate in Child Protection in Education Level 2.


I have both Public Liability Insurance and Professional Indemnity Insurance.  

Studio Policy

I run my teaching business with a Studio Policy based on 42 lessons taken between 1st September and 31st August during term times (occasional lessons during school holidays). Those who start after 1st September will have the number of lessons adjusted appropriately (explained here).

The Studio Policy starts after the 1st lesson.  I place importance on a new student feeling comfortable enough with me to wish to continue lessons. At the same time, I must assess whether I will be able to help the student. Therefore the Policy comes into place once the decision has been made whether the student is to continue with me after the 1st lesson.  Payment for the 1st lesson must be made in advance to secure the time slot.

Consultations/à la carte lessons do not run under a policy, however full payment for the lesson must be paid for in advance upon booking your slot.



My role is to encourage, support and teach you or your child. I can never guarantee musical progress, or a pass, merit or distinction in an exam. I pride myself on providing my students with all the necessary skills and understanding to achieve their best, but it's dependent on regular, quality practice by the pupil outside the lesson.

I always provide notes during lessons to ensure that the student or parent is aware of successes and areas for development.  If the student does not practise on a regular basis and progress is affected as a result, I reserve the right to stop lessons.



Lessons are paid for on a monthly basis.  This is due on the 1st of each month.  I accept cash and bank transfers.

Consultations/à la carte lessons - full payment to be made in advance of the lesson.

Missed or Cancelled Lessons

Any student who misses/cancels a lesson will simply miss the benefit of that lesson.  If enough notice is given, I can offer online or video lessons for in-studio students, or video lessons for online students.  For more details, please read the Policy.

'A la carte' lessons may be rearranged at any time. Should you wish to cancel completely, due to administrative costs, I am unable to refund deposits.
